I may not deserve to live, but I will protect those in my reach with my reverse blade!

So I decided I would just post me stuff in one thread. I'm trying to do more sigs that usual working with multiple renders, so feel free to comment. I'm trying to make at least one satisfactory one a day..

Today's Sig:

As a note the charmander's body is supposed to be the way it is. I intended for Wartortle to have the whole color of his body shown but for char to just have the basic outline. Once I try and throw multiple renders in I'll have to work with these kind of things :P

Simple edits done to it:

Blah, after doing these I just realize I have a long way to go.

Edit: Every thing I make is under the intention of having multiple renders or eventually having them. So, not worried about tips for renders. Worried about color scheme, smudging, opacity, lighting, etc.

Quick question Pookie. What's your opinion on corner text? Good or bad or doesn't matter?

It all depends on how the signature is or if it fits with the style. If it just placed randomly on the side, it doesn't do anything for the flow of the signature.

I was always taught to put the text close to the render so that it doesn't distract from the focal point, which is the render.

Working on lighting and smudging.

The background is nice and the icy feel of this sig is cool.
But placing the render on one side and the text (which is almost bigger than the render --hiperbole) on the opposite side is just really not the best idea for a sig. You want it to have a focal point and a nice, clean composition... I'm not sure you get what I mean by this, but Ana's examples were pretty good to illustrate that.

Purpose of this was to use a difficult render, and later edit it to add a few more renders. Not happy with this at all.

I think this render is actually kinda cool and you could do a lot with it. The background is a bit of a mess though because it looks very low quality and the color flow isn't very fluid. But I'm glad you're trying to experiment new styles, that's the key to learning and improving.

Thank you Pooke :)

Here is one I made out of a joke on another forum. I asked for simple suggestions and it got out of hand in a funny way so I incorporated everyone's opinion in it lol:

No purpose in this, just having a little fun (which is allowed sometimes :D )

Lool what? :p

Corner text isn't always bad, you can definitely pull it off in a lot of cases. But since you're starting make sigs now I'd recommend avoiding it.

Keep it up, Cal. I'm curious and excited to watch you evolve and I hope you keep making graphics regularly 'cause that will help you a lot. Try learning how to blend your renders with the background. That should be an important future step for you. ;)

Trying to do some basic stuff like render placement and color scheme. Also, added the glasses render to see how it would turn out.

like that you added the sunglasses, its nearly a perfect fit. Its good to experiment with that eventually you will learn to blend & merge layers to make something even more spectacular

Wow this signature is the best one I've seen you make so far. The basics I have told you about are present. I like how you made it seem as if wartortle is in water.

It's a little monotone with the color making the wartortle blend a little too much with the background. Also, The render is kind of low quality though and the font is somewhat small. It is in a good spot. Overall, I think you made an improvement with this one.
